Lakewood's Belmar District Ushers in the Holiday Season with Festive Traditions

Lakewood's beloved Belmar district is set to sparkle as it hosts its annual Tree Lighting and RINK Opening on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Plaza at Belmar, located at 7337 W Alaska Dr.

This cherished event marks the commencement of the holiday season, offering a plethora of activities for attendees of all ages.

Guests can look forward to dazzling ice skating performances, live entertainment, and a special photo opportunity with Santa Claus.

Children will delight in the holiday craft station, while the 'Letters to Soldiers' initiative provides a heartfelt way to send cheer to those serving away from home.

Surprises and seasonal delights await around every corner, ensuring a memorable evening for the entire family.

In addition to the festivities, the grand opening of The RINK at Belmar will take place at 4:00 PM on the same day.

As one of the largest outdoor ice rinks in the Denver metro area, The RINK offers a unique skating experience under the twinkling lights of Belmar.

Admission prices include skate rental, with adults at $12.00, children 12 and under at $10.00, and military personnel with valid ID at $8.00.

Seniors 65 and over can enjoy free admission.

For those bringing their own skates, admission is $8.00.

Tickets can be reserved in advance to ensure a spot on the ice.

Adding to the holiday cheer, the 'Drinks Around The Rink' program invites visitors to sip on festive beverages from local establishments such as Great Divide Brewery & Roadhouse, Little India, Tstreet, and Wasabi Sushi Bar.

Guests can enjoy their drinks outdoors in The Plaza, surrounded by the illuminated Christmas tree and the joyful atmosphere of the season.

New drink specials are announced every Thursday, providing a continuous celebration throughout the holidays.

Belmar's transformation from the former Villa Italia Shopping Center into a vibrant mixed-use lifestyle destination has made it the heart of Lakewood's downtown.

Spanning 22 city blocks, Belmar seamlessly blends retail, dining, entertainment, and residential spaces, creating a dynamic community hub.

With over 80 shops and restaurants, more than 1,300 residential units, and extensive office space, Belmar embodies the spirit of urban living.

As the holiday season approaches, Belmar continues to be a focal point for community engagement and festive celebrations.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to bundle up, bring their families, and partake in the joyous traditions that make Belmar a cherished part of Lakewood's community.
